Tropical Storm Rita was a strong tropical storm that brought tempestuous conditions to the Iberian Peninsula as a post-tropical cyclone. The eighteenth named storm of the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season, Rita originated from a non-tropical low that strengthened into a subtropical depression on September 20.
