Hurricane Walter was a hurricane. It was the last hurricane and named storm of the super active 1992 Atlantic hurricane season. It was the latest hurricane formed in the season surpassing Larry from 1979.

The storm caused no deaths or damage, so it remains on the list due the rarity of any season reaching the W name and storms forming in Late December and becoming hurricanes and lasting into the next year. This event won`t happen for another decade or years. The name "Walter" won`t be used for years and might be the last original W name on any list for names, while the names Wendy/Whitney will be the last female W name.
