Typhoon Nida also known as Typhoon Ambo in the Philippines was the 4th named storm of the 2016 typhoon season.

On November 29 an invest formed and quickly formed a depression on November 30 the depression quickly became Nida the storm explosively intensified into a typhoon.

In January 2018 the name Nida was retired and was replaced by Yingyang which means good and evil in Chinese culture,Also PAGASA announced that Ambo would be stricken of the list and was replaced by Annabelle for 2020.
