The 2033 Indian monsoon was the most active monsoon ever recorded in the region since the 1800's, breaking the previous annual rainfall record for India by 1,500 mm, resulting in extreme flooding in the process. 4,500 people also died, as floods reached 4 meters deep in some areas, leading to a further 124 people being left missing due to the event, and damages reached $17 billion in total. Most of these totals were from Cyclone Davida, which also saw the 3rd lowest pressure ever recorded in the North Indian Ocean as well.
